IEEE Day 2017 observed at IUB
IEEE Day 2017 was observed at Independent University, Bangladesh in its Bashudhara Campus on October 26, 2017. The day-long programme started with a colorful rally by the students followed by official inauguration, cake cutting, IEEE sessions, technical talk, circuit debugging challenge, quiz contest, project showcasing, games events and a cultural show. Prof. Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) officially inaugurated the program as the chief guest. The IEEE day was made open by cutting a cake in honor of the day. Mr. Tanvir N. Bashar, Director of Betelco attended the program as the special guest. Dr. M. Abdur Razzak, Head of EEE department welcomed the inaugural gathering. Prof. Shahriar Khan, Dean of School of Engineering and Computer Science spoke in the inaugural session among others. The inaugural session was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Counselor of IEEE IUB Student Branch. In the first IEEE session, Mr. Tanvir N. Bashar from Betelco conducted an interactive presentation on the Design & Development of Transformer, Switchgear & Protection Equipment at Betelco. In the evening, students from EEE department perform in a colorful cultural show. Finally, Dr. M. Abdur Razzak, Head of EEE department and Mentor of IEEE IUB Student Branch distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions. The IEEE Day 2017 was jointly organized by the IEEE IUB Student Branch and IEEE IAS IUB Chapter in cooperation with the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. A total of more than 275 students and faculty members were participated in the day-long event.
