5th GOBESHONA Annual Conference inaugurated
ICCCAD at IUB organized the inaugural ceremony of 5th GOBESHONA Annual Conference on January 8, 2019 at the university campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. This 4-day long Conference will conclude on January 11, 2019.
GOBESHONA, the knowledge platform on climate change in Bangladesh, organized its fifth annual conference to share research based solution on the climate change impacted areas. It would make research on climate change in Bangladesh more effective by assembling the producers and users of knowledge together.
The whole conference divided in 3 different sections; i) Youth Day, ii) Science Conference and iii) Science Policy Dialogue. First three days of the conference have been allocated for the researchers to share their experiences on climate knowledge in Bangladesh, and the final day will be dedicated for Science Policy Dialogue Day.
National and international experts & researchers from the Govt., NGOs, INGOs, donors and partner institutions participated in the inaugural ceremony.
Dr. Saleemul Huq, Director of ICCCAD welcomed the guests and gave an overview of GOBESHONA and its annual Conference. Andy Parker, Honorary Senior Research Fellow, University of Bristol presented the Keynote Paper. Edith Ofwona Adera, Senior Program Specialist, The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) also spoke on the session as special guest.
Dr. Md. Abdul Khaleque, Dean, SESM chaired the opening ceremony and delivered his speech and also thanked all concerned for making efforts towards achieving successes on environmental issues.
