The European Union has awarded its prestigious ‘ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education’ grant to International Centre for Climate Change & Development of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Along with IUB, BRAC University’s James P Grant School of Public Health and Asian University for Women (AUW) also received this grant amounting to USD 1 million.
A signing ceremony was held in this regard at BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka recently. Among others, Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, IUB attended the ceremony as Special Guests.
The pioneering tripartite partnership will implement the ‘Transformative Competency-Based Public Health Education for Professional Employability in Bangladesh's Health Sector’ project, from 2019 to 2021. The universities will design and offer competency-based public health curricula to ensure professional skills development and address the skilled-workforce shortage in the health sector.
The technical partners are Maastricht University, Netherlands, and Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK.
