IEEE Computer Society IUB Student Branch Chapter receives the best chapter award
Aiming to build a strong community to spread the advancement of technology, IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter organized it’s one of the flagships and long-awaited events “IEEE Computer Society BDC MEET & GREET 2019: Dhaka” in association with IEEE ULAB Student Branch on 2nd March 2019 at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. H. M Jahirul Haque, VC, ULAB (Chief guest), Mr. Mamun Rashid, Managing Partner, PwC Bangladesh (Special guest) and IEEE CS BDC Chair, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin.
Later an Industry Panel Discussion on “ Data Analytics for Business Growth in the 21st Century” was conducted by Prof. Abdur Razzaque, CSE, DU and Dr. Md. Hasan Imam, EEE, AIUB. Technical Talk sessions on “AI and Robotics Led Digital Transformation” and “Emerging Technologies - Impact of immersive user experience” were conducted by Mr. Anirban Majumder (Managing Director), Mr. Subhajit Saha (Associate Director), Mr. Prasenjit Pal (Principal Consultant) of PwC India. Prof. Dr Mohammad Sohel Rahman, CSE, BUET and Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Asst. Professor,EEE,IUB were also present as session moderators.
Delegates of IEEE CS Student Branch from different Universities and Professional CS members attended the event. Representatives from different Universities gave a brief presentation about the events they organized in 2018. A brief session on how to organize IEEE sponsored events, conference and prospects for IEEE Computer Society Membership were discussed by Md. Saidur Rahman Kohinoor, Research Associate, DIU. The event ended after an award giving ceremony where IEEE Computer Society Independent University Bangladesh Student Branch Chapter achieved the following awards:
*Best IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter Award on Activities in 2018
*Outstanding Student Volunteer Award to Mohammed Iqbal Hossain Rabbi (Chair, IEEE CS IUB Student Branch Chapter)
*Outstanding Participation in IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter Events
