IUB celebrates Pahela Baishakh 1426
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) celebrated Pahela Boishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year at its own campus in Bashudhara, Dhaka on April 14, 2019. The Division of Students Affairs (DoSA), IUB, organized activities that included traditional songs and music, dance and band music.
The day-long event was inaugurated at the morning by a colorful Mongol Shobhajatra. Nazir Ahmed, Head, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities led the procession that walked through different streets in Bashundhara R/A. On the day, IUB campus also had stalls of foods, flowers and other items to entertain all. The whole campus went onto an absolute festive mode with so many paintings and banners and other captivating items and logistics. Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Senior members of the faculty and management and a large number of IUB students enjoyed various events of Pahela Baishakh 1426.
