IUB student receives Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
Md Rakin Sarder, student of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for Joint Masters on Smart System and Integration from 2019-2021. Smart System and integration (SSI+) is a two-year (120 ECTS) Joint Master Program, co-funded by the Erasmus Mundus program of European Commission, with full student mobility between the three partner institutions with leading expertise in the academic fields of Smart Systems and Microsystems Technology.
Students complete three Semesters at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, University College of Southeast Norway and Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary. The scholarship covers the whole tuition fee, health insurance, provides a monthly stipend of 1000 euro/month for a period of 24 months and also 3000 euro/year travel allowance to travel. The program starts in September 2019.
Md. Rakin Sarder received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IUB in 2016 with Magna Cum Laude. He was the elected Chair of IEEE IUB Student Branch for the year 2016. Rakin also remained active into scientific research works and subsequently pursued his M.Sc. in Computer Science from IUB.
