The students from Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) demonstrated the activities of NAO robot to differently able children at the Society for the Welfare of Autistic Children (SWAC) in Shyamoli, Dhaka. For the first time in Bangladesh, 3 students from the EEE department of IUB, SK Adif Farhan, Mostafizur Rahman Swaron and Mehdi Alam, started to develop the basic communication skills of autistic children using the country's first andro-humanoid NAO robot through their final year project to help the autism society of Bangladesh. The students from IUB are trying to build a NAO robot-based platform which can help the autistic children to improve their basic communication skills using different activities of NAO robot. Students are working with 4 autistic children having different communication level. They are pursuing this research under the supervision of two faculty members of EEE department, Dr. Abdur Razzak and Mohammad Nasfikur Rahman Khan. All the teachers along with the Deputy Director, Mr. Md. Mofijul Islam from SWAC school attended in the 2-hour long first session on May 23, 2019. After 5 to 6 sessions, students will report the improvement of communication skills of these 4 children.
