The Department of Environmental Management of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), organized a Seminar 'Expectation from Fresh Graduates to Get Involved in Development Interventions in the Most Climate Change Hotspot in Bangladesh' on July 8, 2019 at IUB in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
Mr. Rakesh Katal, Chief of Party, Nobo Jatra was the Keynote Speaker of the Seminar. The program started with a brief introduction of the Speaker given by Dr. Md. Abdul Khaleque, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management, IUB. Prof. Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB also present and spoke on the event.
In his presentation, Mr. Karal focused on major facts that influenced environmental imbalance in the southern districts of Bangladesh. He stated that most sources of the water are now salinity. For this, the quality of drinking water is one of the major concerns, Rakesh Katal added. Subsequently, he urged upon collective efforts to handle this devastating situation.
Following the presentation, the floor was open for a question-answer session where both students and faculties participated enthusiastically. Senior members of the faculty and administration and a large number of students of IUB attended the Ceremony.
