Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) organizes training at IUB
Independent University, Bangladesh Toastmasters hosted a day long training program by Toastmasters Leadership Institute ( TLI ) for the entire Toastmasters community in Bangladesh on 26 July 2019.
The training of TLI Dhaka consisted of 3 parts. It Started off with the training of Club Officers' Training Program ( COTP). Toastmasters District 41 Program Quality Director Nimish Joseph was the core trainer of this event and conducted training for offices of Presidents and Vice President Education. Area L3 Director Rokhsana Akhter Rupee conducted training for the office of Vice President Membership. HB Dayaratne, Area L2 Director Trained the office of Public Relation. Area L4 Director, Kazi Taslim Hasan, facilitated training for the office of Secretary. The office of Treasurer was trained by Area L5 Director Mainuddin Ahammad. Division L Director, TM Zahid Hosain Shamol, conducted training for Sergeant at Arms and, also, played role as the Master of Ceremony.
The second segment was a short cultural presentation by a number of IUB students. It revived all after the long interactive session of COTP. Right after the musical and dance performance, District 41 DCP Coach TM Golam Dastagir Jhony briefed all on the Distinguished Club Plans and on the Awards. Followed by this, Division champion in Humorous Speech Contest 2018 - 19 TM Nusrat Huda shared her contest experience and motivated all to participate in the upcoming contests with a few valuable tips to overcome stage fright and on stage crafting.
The final and most important part was " Train the Trainers" - Chief Judges' Training Program (CJTP) by PQD Nimish Joseph. This session was exclusively for the preparation of contest seasons. The trained ones would be eligible to conduct Judges' Training Program ( JTP ) and produce adequate number of judges for any Toastmasters International contest situation.
Nimish Joseph had given some very important advice on how judges should prepare themselves to evaluate speeches of contestants, rules they must follow while judging and the time they must take for a complete judges' briefing. The session was very informative and interactive and the toastmasters took away some very vital life lessons.
Club Executive Committee along with members from the 13 clubs under Division L District 41 were present at this leadership program. All in all, the event was well-organized and a successful one, with some very essential takeaways.
