IUB Students Awarded HerStory Foundation Fellowship
Five students from Independent University, Bangladesh have been awarded for fellowship at HerStory Foundation. Through this fellowship program, the cohort will receive training in performance, storytelling, motivational leadership, future-studies as well as classroom-management.
HerStory Foundation is devoted to collecting, preserving and creating stories of women who broke new ground, opened doors for others, and left a lifelong impression as a result of their diligent effort. The organization had their first recruitment session at IUB on July 17, 2019. The event was organized by the department of OECE in the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor with extensive support from the Human Resources Department of the School of Business and the Social Welfare Club of IUB. On August 25, 2019, an agreement was signed between HerStory Foundation and IUB. Then, HerStory Foundation launched the first edition of the HerStory Reading Fellowship on Friday, September 6, 2019. Twenty students from partner higher education institutions and leadership programs were welcomed into the year-long program by Founder and ED, Zareen Mahmud Hosein, first female Bangladeshi Everest Summiteer Nishat Mazumder and the HerStory team.
Throughout the year, the HerStory Readers will visit the respective classrooms and adolescent clubs to bring to life ‘THE INCREDIBLE READ-ALOUD’ of HerStories: The Adventures of Supergirls.
