The Youth Participation in Conservation Workshop held in Jamalpur
Youth Participation in Conservation (YPC) is a workshop-based awareness-raising program, and an ongoing research into the perception of school children in Bangladesh toward what role they should have in conserving the country’s vast biodiversity pool. It is a program that is being funded by the Outreach, Extension and Continuing Education program of Independent University, Bangladesh. This time, it was conducted in the Sreepur Kumaria High School in Nandina, Jamalpur from September 18-20, 2019.
YPC is aimed at engaging school children in interactive, thought provoking activities that engender deep and rigorous insight into the present situation of the environment and biodiversity. Furthermore, it generates ideas in the participants regarding what they can do to progress toward the environmentally sustainable use of the scarce few natural resources we have left.
