Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI), Sweden research team visits IUB
A research team of Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI), Sweden visited IUB on October 2, 2019 led by Dr. Matthew Scott. RWI is a research and academic institution conducting human rights program and research in 40 countries. Dr. Matthew Scott has been leading the research on ‘disaster displacement’ in ten countries, where Bangladesh is one of them.
Dr. Md. Abdul Awal Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Law, IUB has been conducting a research on ‘disaster displacement’ in collaboration with RWI since 2018. This visit was organized as part of this research activity.
The RWI team met Professor Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB, Professor Imtiaz A. Hussain, Dean (Acting), SLASS and Professor Borhan Uddin Khan, Head, Department of Law. Among others, researchers from Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia were present with Dr. Matthew Scott. They discussed potential collaboration and further research opportunities with IUB.
Mr. Khandker Md. Iftekhar Haider, Treasurer, Mr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Registrar and faculty members of the Department of Law at IUB remained present. Dr. Matthew Scott handed over ‘Bangladesh Consultation Draft’ to the Vice Chancellor (Acting).
