EEE faculty delivers a technical talk at AIUB
IEEE AIUB Student Branch and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society AIUB Chapter jointly organized a Seminar titled “Biomedical Signal Processing and Analysis Techniques: Challenges and Applications” on October 16, 2019.
This technical Seminar was carried out by the invited Speaker, Dr. Md Kafiul Islam, Senior Member of IEEE and Assistant Professor, EEE at IUB. More than 45 students from faculty of engineering and four faculty members from AIUB attended the session. The program started with the introductory speech of Prof. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB.
The Dr. Islam started his talk about the prospects of Electrical and Electronics Engineering knowledge and skills in biomedical signal processing. He introduced his research group “Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing Lab” from Dept. of EEE, IUB to the audience and motivated the students about the featured projects he has been conducting at IUB. Dr. Kafiul Islam widely gave an overview of signal processing methods in the biomedical field especially for pre-processing and highlighted the procedures of EEG, ECG and EMG and showed the significance of signal processing in this area of interest.
The session concluded with the handover of the token of appreciation to Dr. Md. Kafiul Islam by Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Senior Assistant Professor of Dept. of EEE, AIUB and the Branch Counselor of IEEE EMBC AIUB Student Branch Chapter.
