IEEE RAS IUB SB Chapter hosts a seminar on Control of Networked Multi Robot Systems
Multi robot systems denote a setup of two or more robots, where the robots usually work together towards a common objective. The objective can be achieved better by a multi robot system in comparison to a single robot system, in-terms of cost speed, robustness, efficiency and more. The exploration of the various aspects of network multi robot systems such as hardware, control and decision making algorithms, communication aspects, energy and power considerations etc., offers exciting opportunities of study and research for interdisciplinary teams. With these in mind, IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (RAS) IUB Student Branch Chapter organized a seminar on “Control of Networked Multi Robot Systems (phase-1)” at Independent University, Bangladesh in association with IEEE Bangladesh Section and Women in Engineering Affinity Group IEEE BDS.
Dr. Lamia Iftekhar, the Vice-Chair (activity) of Women in Engineering Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Section was the speaker of the seminar. Dr. Lamia presents an introduction of networked multi robot systems focusing on the control and decision-making aspects which can serve as the gateway resources for anyone interested in delving further into the different facets of this exciting world of multi robot control. In her talk, the resources in IEEE that can enable us to explore multi robot systems research were also highlighted. A total of 60 students and faculty members from EEE department were present in the seminar. The phase-2 of this seminar will be presented by the same speaker at North South University. After the seminar, a quiz competition was held and prizes were distributed among the winners.
A crest was handed over to the speaker by Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, the branch mentor of IEEE IUB Student Branch as a token of appreciation.
