IUB EEE faculty wins “Best Presentation Award” at ICDPR 2020 in Singapore

Dr. Md. Kafiul Islam, Assistant Professor at the Dept. of EEE, IUB, has won the “Best Presentation Award" under the technical session of Control and Automation Track at the 4th International Conference on Data Processing and Robotics (ICDPR 2020) held at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore from January 17-19, 2020. ICDPR 2020 was held in conjunction with the 4th International Conference on Control Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (CCEAI 2020), which is supported by Asia Pacific Institute of Science and Engineering, sponsored by Fudan University, China.
On behalf of his co-authors and students, Dr. Kafi presented the paper titled "Design and Implementation of an EOG-based Mouse Cursor Control for Application in Human-Computer Interaction" authored by Ahsan-ul Kabir, Faisal Bin Shahin, and Md. Kafiul Islam. The research work was part of an Undergraduate Senior Project performed at Dept. of EEE, IUB in 2019 by Ahsan-ul Kabir and Faisal Bin Shahin under the supervision of Dr. Kafi. Through this project, Dr Kafi and his team members wish to provide an affordable solution of Human-Computer Interface (HCI) for the physically challenged people who have difficulties in using traditional computer mouse in countries like Bangladesh in near future. This research work has gained much attraction by the conference audience including some of the expert professors from around the globe. At the end of the presentation, the session chair, Prof. Zhengtao Ding from University of Manchester, UK, handed over the certificate of best presentation to Dr. Kafi.
