The Office of the Career Guidance and Placement at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a daylong Job Fair on February 11, 2020 for its students and graduates at the university campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Mr. Rahel Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO, Prime Bank Ltd was the Guest Speaker in the inaugural ceremony of the Fair.
Mr. A Matin Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB; Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Former Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB; Mr. Javed Hosein, Chairman, Finance Committee, IUB; Prof. Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB; Deans of different Schools, senior faculty & management staffs and full house of IUB students were present in the inaugural ceremony.
During the inaugural ceremony welcome address was given by Md. Abdullah Iqbal, Deputy Director, Career Guidance and Placement, IUB.
The objectives of organizing and implementing IUB Job Fair were in 2-fold. Firstly, to create opportunities for university graduates and students to know about the leading companies & organizations of the country. This Fair also took them through the operational procedures of participating organizations; their vision, mission and values and created avenues towards obtaining suitable jobs and crafting desired professional careers.
Secondly, the participating companies also got enormous possibilities of choosing resourceful and promising professionals who can really become the assets for these organizations in order to expanding & achieving their ultimate business and operational goals.
In his speech, Mr. Rahel Ahmed, advised students to get more involvement in extra curricula activities in addition to their education. He emphasized on becoming the comprehensive personality for coping with rapidly changing world.
Mr. A Matin Chowdhury, Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Mr. Javed Hosein, Prof. Milan Pagon – all these speakers underscored on creating the network by the students and devote themselves towards gathering additional skills and knowledge from every possible sources. These will help them ensuring robust future with lots of potential.
A total number of 44 multinational and national companies and organizations took part in the Job Fair. Through different stalls, they collected significant number of CVs from potential IUB candidates who will later have the opportunity to kick-off their promising professional career.
