Humanitarian activities of IUB Social Welfare Club during COVID-19 pandemic
From its formation IUB Social Welfare Club has always ensure to respond to every humanitarian response as per the situation. The club holds no exception in activities to step up in need of response for COVID-19. As soon as the outbreak of coronavirus spread across the country, on March 8, 2020 IUB Social Welfare Club prepared and posted info graphic posters around the entire IUB campus consisting of information of both symptoms and preventions of the deadly virus. Alongside, since March 30, 2020 the club has kept everyone updated regularly with informative news, updates and video presentation on combating the virus. Collaborating with Sajida Foundation, the club successfully opened all donation platforms for the foundation on social media platforms, converted the foundation’s hospital into a COVID-19 isolation centre, installed 600 washing facilities around Dhaka, raised awareness of general hygiene and provided medical support through ChatBot. An NGO named Bidyanondo Foundation received donations worth Tk. 50,000 with facilitation of the Social Welfare Club.
