Webinar on the Effect of Covid-19 on the Electrical Industries
IEEE IAS IUB Student Branch Chapter in association with IEEE IUB Student Branch organized a webinar on "Effect of Covid-19 on the Electrical Industries" on July 23, 2020. Engr. Md. Mozaharul Islam, Additional General Manager (Production) of Energypac Engineering Limited was the speaker of the event who shared his 20 years of experiences on the production of transformers and other important substation equipment of the country’s largest industry of its kind. The event was moderated by Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IUB and the faculty advisor of IEEE IAS IUB SB Chapter and mentor of IEEE IUB Student Branch. The event was held on Zoom platform, streamed live on Facebook and was open for all. It was hosted by Ms. Anisha Mahinoor, the Chair of IEEE IUB SB. More than 30 students from IUB and other universities attended the webinar.
After the introduction, the speaker presented the highlights on the step by step production process of substation equipment at Energypac Engineering and the effect of Covid-19 on the production and sales of the industry during this pandemic. The speaker also advised and shared some tips to the future engineers aiming to develop their career in the Electrical industry of our country. The question and answer session provided in-depth knowledge where participants asked relevant technical questions, careers at electrical industries and job opportunities at Energypac Engineering Ltd. The webinar was ended with a vote of thanks and handing over an e-Certificate as a token of appreciation by Dr. Md. Kafiul Islam, Associate Professor of EEE department and the Branch counselor of IEEE IUB Student Branch.
