IUB observes the World Pharmacists Day 2020
The Department of Pharmacy of the School of Pharmacy and Public Health at IUB organized a Webinar titled, ‘Pharmacists Transforming Global Health’ to mark the World Pharmacists Day on September 29, 2020.
Mr. A Matin Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB was the Chief Guest of the program. Dr. Khondaker Miraz Rahman, Reader, King's College London, UK was the Key Speaker of the Event. Prof. Milan Pagon, Vice Chancellor (Acting), IUB Chaired the session. Dr. JMA Hannan, Dean, School of Pharmacy & Public Health, IUB and Dr. Rajib Bhattacharjee, Head, Department of Pharmacy, IUB also spoke on the occasion.
Highlighting the significant role of the pharmacists during these present days, Mr. Rahman and rest of the speakers underscored that the pharmacists are playing outstanding roles worldwide to handle this pandemic situation in various ways & means. Panelists also emphasized on the importance of having strong regulatory framework in combatting drug counterfeiting. By giving maximum priority to research and developments, universities should aim and work on this to create new knowledge, the discussants opined.
