IUB explores collaboration opportunities with KIIT university, India

A team from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), India, visited Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in June 2022 to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The KIIT delegation comprised Dr. Rabi N. Subudhi, Senior Professor of KIIT’s School of Management, and Dr. Damodar Jena, Professor of KIIT’s School of Rural Management.

During a meeting held at the IUB campus on June 22, 2022, the IUB delegation was headed by Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Dean of IUB’s School of Engineering Technology and Sciences (SETS) and PI of the SETS Industry Academia Project. Representatives from the two universities shared mutual experiences in areas such as industry-academic collaboration, campus placement, and alumni relations.

While talking about how KIIT bridged the gap with the industry, Prof. Dr. Subudhi said it was important for them to build an ecosystem in which students could get involved and in the process, the university could develop “corporate ready” graduates. He also said that the alumni community had a very crucial role to play in bolstering these collaborations.

KIIT University is one of the leading universities in India with an outstanding record in the areas of preparing industry-ready graduates and effective alumni engagement for Industry-Academia Linkages.
