IUB’s Jami becomes champion in debating competition in India

IUB debater Ahmad Tousif Jami has become champion at the invite-only debate competition held at the Narula Institute of Technology (NIT) in Kolkata, India on March 4, 2023. The team comprised Ahmad Tousif Jami, a student of Global Studies and Governance at IUB, and Najib Hayder from the University of Dhaka.

The competition was organized by the Kolkata Debating Circle and JIS University, India. Jami won the Outstanding Speaker Award both in the Finals and in the team rounds.

Other participating institutions included OP Jindal College, Lady Sri Ram College, Hindu College Delhi, IIMC College, JIS University, St. Xavier's College, Jadavpur University, Presidency University, Loretto College, and Calcutta University. The theme of the event was "The best of our young minds will cross swords on the burning issues of the day."
