International Internships and Volunteer Opportunities through AIESEC
On 7 March 2023, the CGP&AR and IPR offices of IUB hosted AIESEC – the world’s largest youth-run organization – for an on-campus information session titled “International Internships and Volunteer Opportunities through AIESEC”. Nishat Siyara, Country Director, and Faizi Nuzhat, National Head of Youth Operations at AIESEC in Bangladesh facilitated the session where attendance was based on prior registration.
The representatives discussed internship and volunteering opportunities abroad that they offer through the AIESEC global network. They underscored the importance of cross-cultural exposure and its contribution to the United Nations’ SDG goals, along with the advantages of each of their programs. Following the presentation, there was a question and answer session. The event gave IUB students a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of developing their career in a global context, experiencing new cultures, and expanding their network globally while taking part in internship and volunteering opportunities. The session was well-received by IUB students, and it served as a useful activity to provide students opportunities to develop their leadership and personal skills through practical experiences.
AIESEC offers three distinct programs for youth to develop their leadership skills while enhancing their CVs and preparing them for the real world. AIESEC was established in 1948 after the Second World War, with the purpose of achieving peace and cross-cultural understanding. AIESEC believes that youth leadership is the key to accomplishing this goal, and it works to cultivate leadership skills and values through practical experience. AIESEC in Bangladesh is one of the 109 entities under AIESEC International, that brings these opportunities to the youth of Bangladesh.
