EEE Students Visit Energypac® Electronics Industry in Gazipur
A group of 48 students and 2 faculty members from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) visited Energypac® Electronics Industry in Hotaipara, Gazipur on 28 November, 2015 as a part of their academic programme. In this trip to one of the largest energy savings lamp manufacturing plant in Bangladesh, students were accompanied by their faculty members Dr. Abdur Razzak and Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury. The tour was coordinated by the IEEE IUB Student Branch counselor and Associate Professor of EEE department Dr. Abdur Razzak. During the visit, the students were briefed on the step-by-step production process of DC LED lamp, CFL lamp, electronic balast, electronic regulator, MK switch, multi-plug and energy savings fan by the factory engineers. The trip also continued to different testing laboratories including energy meter calibration & testing and CFL lamp testing labs. The question and answer session provided good insight into the manufacturing and testing of these important electrical & electronics goods. On the whole, the trip was an excellent opportunity for the students of EEE major to find practical applications of their classroom-based knowledge.
