EEE department hosts a seminar on SPICE for circuits and electronics
A seminar on "SPICE for circuits and electronics" was held at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on Sunday, 18 December 2016. Faculty, staff and students attended the hour-long seminar hosted in the Lecture Gallery at the School of Engineering & Computer Science (SECS). The invited speaker for the seminar was Dr. Muhammad Harun-ur Rashid, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of West Florida. Prof. Rashid is a leading academic and researcher in the field of Power Electronics and his famous textbooks are the seminal textbooks in the field of Power Elelctronics, and are published in several languages and used all over the world. Prof. Shahriar Khan, Dean of School of Engineering & Computer Science, gave the welcome address to start off the event. Prof. Rashid spoke about different SPICE softwares, their implementation, how those tools can be used for providing education, advanced simulation techniques and how to analyze in the context of research using these tools. He concluded the seminar with some interactive discussion about engineering education. The seminar was jointly organized by the IEEE IUB Student Branch and Dept of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, IUB.
