EEE graduate going for MS at University of Kassel, Germany
Md. Rabiul Hossen, graduate of EEE (2015) with CGPA 3.61 is leaving
for University of Kassel, Germany for MS in Electrical Comm. Engg. His
tuition fee is fully waived and he expects to receive scholarship of
Euro 500 after 5 months for his living expenses. Immediately after
graduating from IUB, Rabiul worked in International Gateway Operator
(IGW), Global Voice Telecom Ltd, a sister concern of Beximco.
For intending applicants for higher studies abroad, Rabiul advises to
(a) maintain a good CGPA, such as above 3.0.
(b) start preparing early for standardized exams such as IELTS and GRE.
(c) Choose research and senior project, rather than internship
(d) Improve communication skills, especially with English.
(e) Participate in extracurricular activities, and have them mentioned in your recommendation letters.
(f) Look at the profile of faculty members where you are applying. Communicating with them on matching research interests.
Rabiul advises students to frequently check the website of Ministry of Education and Home Ministry, who advertise foreign scholarships for Bangladeshi students. As there are fewer applicants for these scholarships, there is better chance for receiving them. Through these websites, Rabiul had earlier received offer letters for (a) Work and Holiday visa in Australia and (b) Chinese Govt. scholarship for MS.
