IUB Music Club organizes “Musical Extravaganza”  | | IUB Music Club organized its first-ever musical event on June 21, 2012 at the multipurpose hall of the university at Bashundhara. Professor M. Omar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, IUB, graced the event as the Chief-Guest. In his speech, Prof. Omar emphasized on the importance of participation in extra-curricular activities and appreciated the musical effort initiated by IUB Music Club. Among others, Registrar Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Khan, Chief Advisor of IUB Music Club Dr. Shahidul Alam and the coordinator of IUB Music Club Mr. Parvez A. Sharif spoke on the occasion. In the event, music from different genre ranging from traditional to folk, contemporary, rock, pop etc. were performed by the students with great enthusiasm. There were number of solo, duet and chorus performances along with an exceptional group instrumental performance which was a fusion of traditional flute and western guitars. Major performers in this musical extravaganza were Rifaat, Apoorba, Himel, Adib, Maimuna, Farzana, Nupur, Bipul and Ony in vocal and Shuvro and Muhaimen in base guitar and rhythm guitar. Dr. Mahbub Piyal who is a renowned folk singer of the country and a faculty of IUB, also performed in the event. Few new-comer and rising bands whose line-up includes IUB students, performed in the later part of the event as guest performers. The whole program was hosted by Apurba Noyeem and Sanjida. The stage was beautifully decorated by Nasher, The whole event was planned and directed by Mr. Parvez A. Sharif. A large number of students, faculty members and administrative officials enjoyed the musical event. | |
