The School of Business of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB organized a discussion on Liberation war at its permanent campus at Bashundhara, Dhaka on Tuesday, 13 December, 2011.  Maj. Gen K. M. Safiullah (Retd.) Bir Uttam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The title of the discussion was  ‘The Liberation War was a people’s war in true sense’.” Mr. Towhid Samad, Chairman Board of Trustees, IUB, Dhaka was the Special Guest and Prof. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor (In-charge) presided the programme.  Dr. Nadim Jahangir, Director of the School of Business also spoke on this occasion.

The programme started with one minute silence to pay respect to late National Professor Kabir Chowdhury.

In his speech Maj. Gen K. M. Safiullah (Retd.) Bir Uttam shared his experience and many stories of joy and regrets and ended with theses remarks “we had many successes and failures, nonetheless if the general people of this country were not there for our shelter, food and all those supports, it would become impossible for us”.

The programme was well attended by the students, parents, guest and the members of the faculty and management of IUB.
